Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What do I need to bring to class?
A. Each member brings their own yoga mat, a set of dumbbells and a water bottle. If you are trying out your first class and don't yet have a set of dumbbells you are welcome to come anyways and the instructor can give you bodyweight exercises to substitute. If you don't have a yoga mat a beach towel will do.
Q. How heavy of dumbbells should I get?
A. This is a hard one to answer because it depends on your personal strength & fitness. Most clients start with 8lb or 10lb weights, although many of our long term clients have now progressed to heavier weights!
Q. Where can I buy weights?
A. You can usually find weights at Canadian Tire, Winners or Walmart. Fitness Depot and Fitness Town are other good places to check out.
Q. I'm not a very good runner? Will I be able to keep up?
A. Our instructors are very skilled at leading the cardio portion of the class in a way that challenges all levels of runners. We integrate various drills, hills & loops so regardless of your pace, you will feel included and challenged in the workout. As long as you can run a little bit, you'll be fine :)
Q. Where are the classes held?
A. We rotate through a variety of locations (several in the winter and change it up for the summer so we have access to trails for our cardio portion of class). All our members have access to an App that lets them see where the class location will be. We change locations to provide variety for our clients and trainers. It takes just a little bit to learn the locations in your first month, but then after that they will soon become familiar!
Q. Do you offer modified classes.
A. We recently added a modified class that concentrates more on the strength training portion of our classes. If you have an injury or think that the cardio might be a little harder to get into, this class could be the fit for you. Please also see the option below for a more personalized solution.
Q. I'm just returning to fitness after a bit of a break, I'm not sure if this will be too intense for me?
A. Give us a call at 778-985-7033 if you have any concerns about past injuries or limitations that you would like to discuss. We also offer personal training and some clients find it useful to do a couple weeks of 1:1 sessions to build up to a base level of fitness, before jumping into classes.
